Everyone's Got Their Own Demons, Even Porter Robinson

I wanted to get a post out on this sooner, but I needed to research and try to fully understand the situation a bit more first.
Long story short...Porter Robinson is going through some sh*t.
From what I could gather yesterday from his Twitter and speculation from fan @replies, it seemed like there are issues with which songs of his are "officially his." Whether that issue is between Porter and other artists, other labels, or something else remains to be seen (keep reading). But it suffices to say that the issue is serious and is causing Porter quite a bit of stress. A long, drawn out tweet reading, "F*ck this" was published yesterday on his account. Cycling through the fan replies, it was obvious that there is an outpouring of support which is nice to see.
Before the "F*ck this" tweet, Porter wrote, "no disrespect but this is the canon**...everything else is unofficial now...I've been making music for 12 years and I only wrote 11 songs, wow." The list of these 11 songs he refers to as "canon" can be seen in this tweet.
This isn't the first time Porter has gone through something like this. According to another tweet, he wants his fans to know that he's gone through some "self doubt and depression" as late as 2015. This goes to show you that even extremely talented and famous people aren't immune to tough times. In fact,
Approximately 1 in 5 adults in the U.S.—43.8 million, or 18.5%—experiences mental illness in a given year. Approximately 1 in 25 adults in the U.S.—10 million, or 4.2%—experiences a serious mental illness in a given year that substantially interferes with or limits one or more major life activities.

Flash-forward to today, and Porter has confirmed that he is standing by his tweet about the "canon list" and that he wasn't being sarcastic in any way. He revealed this via SnapChat, and also added, "those [11] are the only songs I stand by" and "that was a playlist that I made to showcase the music that I feel proud of" and claims that the tweet was "unprovoked by anything specific." The key word in that last bit - specific. This leads me to believe that he was provoked, and provoked by more than one thing. As for why he's not proud of the boatload of other songs he is featured in? - I'm not sure. Is it because those songs weren't written by him? Were they "ghost produced"? Is he fed up with the some other piece of the entertainment industry? Who knows.
What I do know is, Porter Robinson is crazy talented and should be proud of everything he's done. He's only 24 for crying out loud! I'm sure he's inspired millions already with his music and showmanship. On another positive note, and especially if you've never heard of Porter Robinson before, check out a piece of his latest work below. "Shelter" is a collaboration with French artist, Madeon, and it really is spectacular.
**canon refers to the part of a story which is official, and it is quite often used in entertainment to differentiate between what is "real" to the story and what is "fan-fiction"
