So that’s how you roll if you’re part of The Chainsmokers.. WOW, last night was something out and Entourage episode..for real!

The night started as my squad and I rolled around Boston, getting shots of the city with our camera crew in preparation for a recap movie of everything I’m about to share with you (link to the movie will be out SOON!). Those of us with tickets to ELECTRIC BOUNCE HOUSE featuring CASH CASH and THE CHAINSMOKERS & DAYA then went to the House of Blues show (thank you AMP 103.3 Radio for bringing in these artists and for giving away FREE tickets to a pair of my friends). Cash Cash was amazing per usual, and I think they proved they’re a great headlining act with their set last night. They warmed up the crowd in sufficient fashion for The Chainsmokers to take over...and that’s putting it lightly!
Alex and Drew of The Chainsmokers didn’t take it easy on the Boston crowd. BANGER..after BANGER..after BANGER..they didn’t let up for a second! It was nice to see that although playing the typical hits like “Closer,” and “Don’t Let Me Down” (which are must plays if you’re The Chainsmokers), they were also able to mix things up a bit from their previous festival sets. It was easy to tell that many of the attendees of this show were not ready for what The Chainsmokers were giving (you know when you see those people who don't know what to do with themselves on the dance floor?)...but of course there were also those who “head-banged,” who joined the mosh pits that formed, and who raged their hearts out as the dance/pop duo blasted thousands of watts of pure EDM into our ears!!!
Our crew got outside after the show at around 10:45pm and got to speak with a couple of other attendees. It seemed that the general consensus was, and I quote, “THAT SET WAS LIT!!!” Yes, we heard that on more than one occasion in a matter of minutes post-show.
Earlier this day, we linked up with 6one7 Productions and got access to film and cover the after party at ICON. So after the HoB emptied, we quickly made our way over to Club ICON at around 11:45pm. I suppose we were about 99.99% sure The Chainsmokers were headed there. How did we know, you might ask?
Hmmm...
Was it this ICON flyer that mimicked the look of a Chainsmoker’s hit single, “ROSES”? Was it the fact that ICON usually never opens on a Monday night, and the flyer mentioned, “SPECIAL GUESTS”? Was it the description of tonight’s event that said, “TONIGHT AT ICON... Get closer: ?” Or was it The Chainsmokers tweets earlier in the night that hinted of the an after party in Boston? I guess we will never quite know. But long story short...ALEX AND DREW showed up (and we have 6one7 Productions to really thank for that). Ace and Dimitri know how to get things done and always seem to pull in popular names into their club.

We can’t wait for our after movie to be released. Everyone was pumped up.. even the guests in line at the club were so obviously ready to party, and we were able to get some of their reactions on film! ICON was packed inside. Bottle service was on point, and the pair of Chainsmokers were taking advantage of that to say the least. Let’s just say they may have had a “little too much drinky drink” if you know what I mean. It was so loud, and so packed, it was truly difficult to get a word in with either Drew or Alex, but they seriously looked like they were having a good time - there was never a dull moment. My crew and I were all over the place! Behind the DJ booth, at the VIP table with Drew and Alex, the side rooms, the dance floor, you name it! Again, I can’t talk up this after movie enough!

As the night went on, the hype man for DJ Hectik and DJ Tone Terra (who were spinning all night at ICON) might have called Drew/Alex to the booth about 617 times, but in my opinion they weren’t in the right condition at that moment to put on another set..even for 5 minutes. Neither of them actually got to the DJ booth itself, and although a little disappointing, it was understandable. KUDOS to The Chainsmokers for making an appearance, chilling with fans, and kicking it back and enjoying themselves..because there’s nothing wrong with that. According to their tour schedule, their next stop isn’t for another 4 days in New York at freakin' MADISON SQUARE GARDEN. I think they deserve some much needed rest.
Speaking of getting what’s deserved, GRAMMY Nominations were also recently released, and check out this list, because The Chainsmokers are on for multiple Grammies this coming year!
Special thanks to 6one7 Productions for hooking it up with press passes last night. Thank you to 103.3 AMP Radio for sponsoring the event at the House of Blues and bringing these artists to Boston. Thank you to all teams and personnel involved in making last night happen including but not limited to our camera crew (Trevor Finney and Ian Messina). BOSTON IS GETTING STRONGER. I CAN FEEL IT. THE EDM JUICES ARE FLOWING. Last but definitely not least, thank you to Drew and Alex of The Chainsmokers. None of this would be possible without their creative minds and drive to make music.
