Random Acts of PLURness...Excision Community Strikes Again

OKAY...ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I HAVE SEEN ONE TOO MANY NICE THINGS HAPPEN AMIDST THE EDM COMMUNITY, AND I AM SICK OF IT (there really needs to be a sarcasm font, Zuckerberg, get on that...). Well, let me be more specific and truthful: I am sick of not writing about it. Sarah Pardy's most recent act of kindness put me over the edge. I just recently met Sarah, before the acts of this story took place. We became friends (and made our friendship "official" on Facebook later) after the October 21, 2016 Kill The Noise / Mija show at Royale, Boston, MA.

So I logged onto Facebook this morning and one of Sarah's most recent posts popped up on my mini-feed. Take a look at it for yourself, but to sum it up, she saw that a random (she didn't know the person previously) guy named Zack post to that Excision Facebook Group I wrote about in my debut article on this blog. As you can see in Sarah's post, Zack didn't have the money for the Madeon/Porter Robinson show (fantastic show by the way, I saw it November 15, 2016 at the Orpheum Theater here in Boston) that he wanted to see in his home state of Colorado. He posted that literally "hours before the show," according to Sarah. As you can see, Sarah (after purchasing a ticket for Zack) has received an outpouring of gratitude from other members of the Excision Headbangers group and you guessed it, by Jeff "Excision" Abel! Jeff is really on top of his community outreach game...so much respect for the worlds #2 dubstep producer as voted by fans of the genre on this site.

So that's the story, and if I had the time, I'd be constantly writing stories like this...nonstop. I hope mainstream media captures more things like this and brings light to the fact that people, and namely, RAVERS are inherently good, despite any preexisting negative connotations.

Here is an exchange on Facebook between me and Sarah...take from it what you will:

S: "OMG you want to know something?"

P: "what?"

S: "It just clicked. My friend Brendan gifted me my ticket to Mija [remember, me and Sarah met at the Mija show] and it was the most amazing feelingI must have subconsciously remembered that and did it for zack"

P: "ohh so you're thinking karma too maybe?"

S: "Definitely. That's not what I was thinking at the time but it all makes sense because that's the first time anyone had ever gifted me a ticket and I had the time of my life and I met you!"
